Scrapbooking

Stack of some of my scrapbooks

One of my hobbies that I love is to scrapbook. I've been scrapbooking since I was nine (10 years!). I haven't scrapbooked in months though because there is no way that I could have done it while I was at Western. I have too many supplies and stuff! Today I started to go through it all so I could organize and be ready to move it all. I enjoy looking through all of them to remember all the memories and how much I have improved (the ones from 10 years ago are really bad! haha). Since it's summer now, I need to get moving and work on pages.

List of what I need to scrapbook:
1. Disney World (Spring Break 2009)
1. Hilton Head (Summer 2009)
2. Trip to Connecticut (Summer 2009)
3. Western my Freshman Year
4. Caribbean Cruise (Winter Break 2009/2010)
5. Spring Break 2010 (x2, one for me, one for my grandparents)
6. Fiji Chartering
7. Nick's High School Graduation

Summer Reading List

I enjoy reading, but have so little time to while I'm in school. I hope to read a lot of books this summer. Here are some that I plan on reading:

1. The Hunger Games by: Suzanne Collins (I started this book 2 months ago and still haven't finished it!)

2. A Time to Kill by: John Grisham

3. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by: Mark Haddon

4. The Da Vinci Code by: Dan Brown

5. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by: J.K. Rowling (I read the first one last summer and loved it, I hope to finish the series someday, but I'll start by reading the 2nd book)

6. 2nd Chance by: James Patterson (This is the Women's Murder Club series, I read the first one and want to read the rest of them. There are 9 total)

7. Half-Broke Horse: A True- Life Novel by: Jeannette Walls ( I read The Glass Castle by her and it was one of my favorite books, so I wanted to read another one written by her. I would really recommend The Glass Castle)

8. Eat, Pray, Love by: Elizabeth Gilbert

I will probably think of more that I want to read. Any other suggestions? I will be sure to update you on the books I read and tell you how they were!

BAKING!

I really like to bake, especially desserts! I like to bake chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies dipped in chocolate, ice cream cakes, and decorative cupcakes.

On Monday , my friend Erin and I decided to bake cupcakes. We wanted to do something fun and different, rather than just baking plain iced cupcakes. We looked up ideas on the internet and found paw print and penguin cupcakes. We went to Walmart and bought all the ingredients! It was so much fun. We used carrot cake, cream cheese frosting, devil's food cake cookies, candied orange slices, and M &M's. They were delicious!

One of my favorite desserts to make is ice cream cake. I usually make it for special occasions, like a birthday or holiday in my family. Below is a recipe they I usually use:

ICE CREAM CAKE

1 sm. brownie mix
1/2 gallon ice cream
1 sm. can chocolate syrup
1 sm. can pecans
Vanilla ice cream to fill pans
6 Heath bars

Bake brownies in bottom of 9-inch spring pan. Cool. Spread ice cream over this. Layer pecans, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate syrup. Crush Heath bars and sprinkle on top. Freeze. YOU CAN USE WHATEVER FLAVOR ICE CREAM YOU WANT!

If you ever want me to make you a dessert I would be happy too :)

Do you want to know something that irks me?

CHEATING. I don't understand what the purpose of cheating is. If you study, there is no need.... Cheating takes more effort than actually studying for the test. So why don't you just study. There is this guy in my one of my classes that has cheated on every test, including the final that we took today. Last week we had a test and he had the nerve to ask me out loud what one the answers was!! I couldn't believe it. Of course I told him I didn't know because I wasn't going to cheat and help him out. So what he did was leave the classroom with his phone and them came back with the answers on his phone. And the professor was only 8 feet away! UGH. It is just frustrating.. but I know in the end it will catch up with him and there will be consequences, even if he doesn't get caught. I just want people to realize that cheating is wrong and you can't get by in life by cheating. Well, I thought I would share that with you because it has been bugging me a lot lately. I am relieved now that this guy will never have to sit next to me in class again!

Finals Week

Wow, I haven't written in a week! Last week was really busy for me because I had several exams and I also needed to prepare for finals. Today is Sunday which means that I just finished my last weekend as a freshman in college at WKU. It is shocking! I need to get through finals week to finish up the year. I have four exams and my final draft of my English research paper is due. I have Physics, Spanish, Geography, and Human Nutrition finals. I hope I do well in all of them! I am little worried about Physics because I need to get an A on the exam! But it is on Monday so I'm glad it's at the beginning of the week. I am going to enjoy my last week at WKU. I plan on spending a lot of time with friends and of course studying. I am wishing good luck to everyone on their finals this week :)

ONE MONTH!

I can't believe that I will be driving up to Connecticut in one month! I am excited, but I am sad to leave Louisville and my home. There is so much going on before I will be moving though that I am really excited about! I have two more weeks left in my freshman year at WKU :( ( Ready to be over with finals though!) And when I get home, my brother, Nick will be graduating from high school. I can't wait to see him graduate! And my grandparents are coming in town so I will get to see them. YAY! Once I am in Louisville I hope to spend a lot time with friends amidst all the packing. If you are a friend reading this, I want to see you before I LEAVE!!
